State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) Dialog
A regional effort to identify opportunities to improve the SEQR process
Draft recommendations dated 2/8/10, representing the initiative co-chaired by DEC Region 3 Director Willie Janeway, Pattern for Progress President Jonathan Drapkin, and Scenic Hudson President Ned Sullivan, to improve implementation of the State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA). The charge to streamline SEQRA without compromising environmental protection or public participation came from DEC Commissioner Pete Grannis at Pattern's Fall 2009 Conference, "The SEQRA Solution: Striking the Right Balance", which was followed by three months of public input. This draft has been issued for review and comment with a deadline of March 17, 2010. Email input to:
