Pattern for Progress Moderates as Congressmen Talk Hudson Valley Issues

FEBRUARY 1, 2016 – Congressmen Chris Gibson, R-19, and Sean Patrick Maloney, D-18, will talk about what it means to represent the Hudson Valley in Washington when they get together for the fourth annual edition of Across the Aisle on Wednesday, Feb. 17, in Poughkeepsie. Hosted by Hudson Valley Pattern for Progress, the event is known as one of the most dynamic displays of knowledge and bipartisan thinking when it comes to how federal politics affect the region.

As the frenzy of the presidential election year hits an even higher gear,  Gibson and Maloney will again appear in an intimate local setting to explain the issues and illustrate the ways they try to  navigate the nation’s capital on behalf of the Hudson Valley.

“Without a doubt, I can say I learn more about how Washington currently works in an hour with these two congressmen than I do all year long through all other channels,” said Pattern for Progress President and CEO Jonathan Drapkin. “This is one event you do not want to miss.”

Across the Aisle 2016, will be moderated by Drapkin in conjunction with WAMC Hudson Valley Bureau Chief Allison Dunne. Registration for the event begins at 9 a.m.; the discussion starts promptly at 9:15 on Wednesday, Feb. 17, at the Student Center Cabaret, Marist College, Poughkeepsie. Reservations are $35 for Pattern members and $50 for all others. Sponsors include Marist College, Cablevision, The Chazen Companies and Suburban Hospital Alliance.
