As the restrictions slowly phase out and vaccinations continue, most of us are looking forward to doing some of those things that have been on “pause”.
You know what I am talking about, or maybe it has been too long…you remember… going to dinner and then…dare I say to the movie theater, or going out to a bar with friends and hearing live music. Or, maybe even a stroll inside one of the many museums in the Hudson Valley enjoying the beautiful art and transporting yourself to a different time. These are just a few of the things that Pattern has missed, and we are sure you have as well.
We know there has been a big financial impact to the restaurants and caterers, and live venues and art venues. Pattern wants to do something – put the arts at the HeART of the Region.

The United States Congress, in the National Foundation on the Arts and Humanities Act, defined “the arts” as follows:
The term “the arts” includes, but is not limited to, music (instrumental and vocal), dance, drama, folk art, creative writing, architecture and allied fields, painting, sculpture, photography, graphic and craft arts, industrial design, costume and fashion design, motion pictures, television, radio, film, video, tape and sound recording, the arts related to the presentation, performance, execution, and exhibition of such major art forms, all those traditional arts practiced by the diverse peoples of this country. (sic) and the study and application of the arts to the human environment.[1]
Pattern’s Annual Fundraiser and Gala: At the HeART of the Region.
This year Pattern’s annual event will take you on a tour and remind you of one of many reasons we love the Hudson Valley: The Arts. Instead of having our supporters gather in one location, we are going on the road to sample some of our most spectacular arts spaces, music venues and gardens. As the weather turns warmer and more cultural venues are able to open, Pattern wants to take you on a journey through the region.
We will be including locations such as:
- Storm King Art Center
- Bethel Woods Center for the Arts
- The Garner Arts Center
- The Hammond Museum and Japanese Stroll Gardens and
- a few more fun locations
These will be small in-person gatherings, following all necessary health protocols, of 50-75 people and we can’t wait to see our friends again! (and not just on zoom!) Keep your eyes open as we unfold our plans to take you to the HeART of the Region and hope that you can join us in the great outdoors while renewing your connection to our region’s beautiful art and scenery.

not a day goes by
where we don’t spy with our eyes
the beauty of art
it is in our
