This year, the economic and social fallout of COVID-19 has hit communities across our region hard. Pattern sees a great need for community leaders and projects that will help re-build communities and to do so in a way that is more inclusive and equitable.

Pattern is excited to launch the Community RE-Builders Program, an intensive course for the advancement of community focused projects. The program will provide participants with the tools and support they need to take community development projects to the next level.

In 2016 and 2017, Pattern offered the Community Builders Program with participants representing important and diverse projects such as the Garner Arts Center & Garnerville Historic District, the Middletown Downtown Revitalization Initiative, and the Newburgh Ritz Theater Revitalization among other projects. These and other Pattern Community Builder projects have been transformative for their neighborhoods.

The revitalization of communities is vital to the overall quality of life for the entire Hudson Valley. A key element to successful community development is growing and building local leaders and strong advocates to establish a clear vision to effectuate positive change in the community. The new Community RE-Builders program will help these leaders to succeed in their current projects and prepare them for future endeavors.
