Percent of People Who Speak A Language Other than English at Home

The number of people who speak a language other than English at home is increasing in the Hudson Valley. The same is true at a national and state level. In every county in the Hudson Valley region except Ulster and Columbia, the percentage of people who speak a language other than English at home has increased since 2010. For those who speak another language, it does NOT necessarily mean they cannot also speak English, in fact, most of them do. The increase in languages other than English being spoken at home reflects an overall increase in diversity in the Hudson Valley.
