Limited results of the highly anticipated 2020 Census are now available. The population counts show that the Hudson Valley region grew by just over one hundred thousand people in the decade since 2010. This equates to a 4.3% population increase over 10 years, for an average annual increase of about 0.4%. Almost all of the population growth occurred in the lower Hudson Valley in Westchester, Rockland, and Orange Counties. The influx of people into the region as a result of the Pandemic likely boosted the population growth in these counties and mitigated population decline in the others.
