The 2019 American Community Survey was just released by the US Census Bureau. The numbers show that some of our region’s counties continue to lose population while others see growth. Rockland’s population had the fastest growth from 2010 to 2019 with an increase of 6.2%. Ulster County lost the most residents (4,117) while Columbia saw the greatest decline as a percentage of the total population (-4.5%). Many people have migrated into the region from the New York City area during COVID. It will be interesting to see these numbers next year.
