In every industry sector in New York State women earn less income than men. The difference is most pronounced in “Agriculture, forestry, fishing and hunting & mining”; followed by “Other services not public administration.” In the “Construction” industry women’s earnings are close to that of men’s but, women account for only a small fraction of construction jobs (in the Hudson Valley women hold 8.4% of jobs in the construction industry).  In the only industry in which women have a higher number of jobs than men “Educational services, and health care and social assistance”, women are still paid less than men with earnings at 76.1% that of  their male counterparts.  Across all industries, for every $1.00 that full-time working men over the age 16 make, New York’s working women make $0.77.
